Andy Dippenaar is an accomplished bagpiper with 30+ years of experience. He spent thirteen years in the ranks of the South African Irish Regiment, and is currently a correspondent member of South Africa’s 2024 Grade 2 champion pipe band, the Transvaal Scottish Pipes & Drums. He regularly travels internationally as a guest piper with the Drums & Pipes of the Cape Town Highlanders.

Andy counts himself fortunate to have performed twice in the world renowned Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and, at Windsor Castle, in the 90th birthday celebration of the late sovereign, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. He’s also performed no less than 5 times in Europe’s second largest open air tattoo, the Basel Tattoo in Switzerland.

Andy has served as both a solo and pipe band adjudicator in SA, and as a peer-elected member of the Executive Committees of both the Pipe Bands’ Association of Southern Africa and the Transvaal Scottish Pipes & Drums.
